You have just been hired to work for the Two Mills Times Newspaper. Two Mills is the setting for the book, Maniac Magee. You will be responsible for writing a news article, an advice column, a classified ad, an obituary, an editorial, a sports article, or another type of activity.

Your office will be composed of four writers with whom you must work cooperatively. You will decide which type of article/articles you would like to write. You will fill out an application for employment. It will be up to the assigned co-editor in each group to make the final decisions in the group. There is no room for argument because the co-editor has the power to fire you with the publisher's approval.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS :

Managing editor/publisher - Ms. Richiski and Mrs. Begin

Co-editor:

Newswriter: will write articles about the book's main events or create features about the characters in the book.

Sportswriter: will write about the sporting events or create a feature about a sports figure in the story.

Advice columnist and obituary writer: will give advice in response to letters written in to the paper and create the obituaries.

Activity page writer: will create an activity or fun page. The fun page can include many things such as puzzles, jokes, mazes, amazing facts, the weather, or horoscopes.
