Back to School Transition Project

Origami:

Students begin the year in my class learning origami (Japanese paper folding) & kirigami (a cut and folded design).  Projects included constructed a 3-D box out of six sheets of paper, making a turtle with decorations, and a frog.

Origami requires students to learn how to follow a diagram to learn symbolic representation of steps and reinforces learning geometric shapes.

Projects and art exercises are designed around skill areas.  In addressing each skill area, students will use a variety of different types of media and materials.
