Mrs. Coleman has been a teacher in Milford since 1995 for the Art and Gifted/Enrichment programs. Mrs. Coleman currently teaches art to students in grades 6, 7, & 8 art at West Shore Middle School.
Mrs. Coleman has a Bachelor of Science in Education (Art) from SUNY College/Buffalo. While an undergraduate student, she spent four months studying art in Italy and an additional three months exploring the art and cultures of Spain, Portugal, Greece, Israel, France, Switzerland, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
As an undergraduate student, Mrs. Coleman was an experimental subject in a two year study on creativity conducted by two of her professors of Creative Studies. She received a Master of Science degree in Creative Studies (Creative & Critical Thinking Skills) from SUNY College/Buffalo -- the second person to complete this program. Additionally, Mrs. Coleman received a 6th year degree in Educational Leadership from Southern Connecticut State University.
Prior to teaching in Milford, Mrs. Coleman led workshops on creativity and conducted market research and long range planning projects for diverse companies and industries in the United States and Sweden.
Mrs. Coleman enjoys jewelry-making, sculpture, photography, animation, mixed media, drawing with colored pencils, as well as the art of different cultures.
