Welcome to health class! I am Colleen Suech and I am excited to be your child's health education teacher. This is my sixth year teaching in Milford and sixth year at Harborside. I am very proud to teach in Milford, mainly because I grew up in Milford and graduated from Jonathan Law High School. In addition, I am actually a Harborside graduate!
I studied Exercise Science (teacher certification program) with a concentration in School Health Education at Southern Connecticut State University. During my time at SCSU I was a student athlete and competed and captained the womens cross country and track and field teams. I hold Connecticut teaching certifications in health and physical education. Currently, I am working towards a Masters of Science in Education with a focus on reading at Western Connecticut State University.
I am passionate about wellness and believe health education is essential in the development of healthy behaviors. These behaviors are learned through growth of knowledge, and through the development of attitudes and skills. Health education improves the overall wellness of individuals, families and communities. Health education enhances behaviors geared towards improving an individuals quality of life.
In addition to my passion for teaching, I am an avid runner, skier, and soccer enthusiast! If you need to contact me I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
