I am excited to be starting another year at Jonathan Law. Prior to
teaching, I managed a law firm for 13 years. My daughter, Jillian, was born
in 2003 and my love for children grew. At this time, I married my desire to
help children with a voracious appetite for reading. My goal is to instill
my passion in my students.
Professionally speaking I am advancing my learning through additional
classes. In the fall of 2009, I took a methods class in History to earn my
cross certification in History. I still have 1 class that alludes me for the
certification (a non western History). In the summer of 2010, I went to St.
Johnsbury Academy in St. Johnsbury, VT to learn how to teach Advanced
Placement Literature. In 2012, I completed classes at Southern Connecticut
State Universtiy for a second Masters degree. That degreee is in Educational Leadership.
During the summer of 2013, I went to Taft University and was trained to teach Advanced
Placement English Language. In August, 2013, I went through TEAM training so that I can be a
mentor to a new teacher or support a student teacher.
My husband, Jim, continues to ask me when I will be finished
with school. I will never be done because there is always something new to
