Teacher Information

Well, it’s that time of year again! Summer is over and it’s back to school time. I hope you’ve all enjoyed your summer.

For those of you unaware, my name is Mrs. Nicole Francoeur and this is my seventh of year teaching. I spent four years graduating from the Southern Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology prior to joining the staff at Live Oaks School. I completed my Master Degree in Holistic Thinking.

Some of the topics we will be studying this year will be family, bears, and nutrition. Family– Home Projects will be completed each month. The Home Projects are a way for you and your child to work together to be creative. Our Numeric lessons will focus on areas ranging from oral counting, number recognition, adding and subtracting and measurment. A large portion of the curriculum will focus on Adding and Subtractring   Students should practice with flash cards. Our Literacy lessons will be comprised of reading a variety of stories in our Guided Reading groups as well as a whole class and in learning centers. In addition, our primary writing instruction will focus on a variety for styles of writing. We have a new writing program which we will be exploring this year.

Each day will begin with a review of the day’s schedule and morning meeting. It is a wonderful opportunity for students to get to know fellow classmates and to get to know me!

This classroom is based upon total respect. A learning environment based upon one of respect creates a comfortable place for all students to learn! I hope you are as excited as I am for this year. Eager and hard working students are going to have a great year! I can not wait to get to know each student.

I believe that it is important for families to be aware of what is going on in school. In an effort to maintain ongoing communication please feel free to come into our classroom and join us anytime. I believe it is important that you as parents feel as welcome in room 3 as my students. We have some amazing students in our classroom this year.

Should you have any questions or concerns throughout the school year, please feel free to send a note. I can also be reached online. If you would like to contact me via email, please send your email address to me. You can also contact me at the school anytime. I look forward to a successful partnership! nfrancoeur@milforded.org
