Welcome to The Academy

Hello and welcome to The Academy!

At The Academy we take great pride in what our school has to offer.  As the alternative education program for the Milford Public Schools it is our mission to foster independence and guide students to become empowered, compassionate citizens through an individualized and holistic approach in a community of high expectations.

In doing so, we set high expectations through the use of Project Based Learning, Restorative Practices and a variety of other proven strategies for success.  The student to teacher ratio is kept small in order to allow for a strong understanding of each and every student that steps foot in our doors.  We promote positive thinking, choices through an empathetic approach in our daily work. Our goal is for students to leave with their high school diploma, the skills needed to be successful in their adult lives and to be college and career ready.  We work with students to assist in the transition to their next chapter after high school.  In the 16-17 school year we had students accepted to the following:  Central CT State University, Paul Mitchell School, Sacred Heart University, Quinnipiac University and many more.

We also have strong ties to our community and look forward to many more job shadows, internships and fundraising opportunities.

Feel free to call, email or stop in for more information.

Sincerely,

Sarah Scionti
