Welcome to JFK!
John F. Kennedy School is an elementary school in Milford, CT which serves over 420 students in Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 2. We strive to help every child who walks through our doors reach their full potential.
Our goal at JFK is to create lifelong learners and responsible citizens. Our math instruction focuses on the conceptual foundations of mathematics so that students can become mathematical thinkers. Our writing instruction teaches the writing process through a workshop environment, where students are given the opportunities to write in a variety of genres and develop a love of writing. Our reading instruction gives students the skills they need to read increasingly complex texts and become critical thinkers. In addition to academics, we emphasize personal responsibility through our school code: Take Care of Yourself. Take Care of Each Other. Take Care of Our School.
We have a dedicated faculty and staff at JFK who drive the work toward these goals. Our teachers are professionals who continuously build their knowledge of effective educational practices. They work tirelessly to refine their craft so they can discover better ways to serve our students. They understand that excellent teachers must also be lifelong learners.
JFK values our parent community as well. The JFK PTO hosts numerous events which improve our school climate and enrich our students. We believe that a strong partnership between parents and teachers creates a powerful force to improve the lives of children.
I am very grateful to be part of such a wonderful community. I hope you find this website helpful and informative. Please contact me if you have any questions.
