About Mrs. Hardt...
I am entering my 17th year of teaching, and can't imagine doing anything else other than this profession which allows me to learn every day along with my students. I hope to inspire learning, impart wisdom, and encourage dreams.
I earned my Bachelors of Science Degree in Sociology with a minor in Theater from Southern Connecticut State University. After working at Yale University for just under two years, I realized I truly wanted to be in the classroom and received my Masters in Elementary Education Degree from the University of New Haven.
I live in Orange with my husband Rich and two wonderful children. Dante is entering sixth grade and plays hockey and golf; though he loves all sports. Mia is entering third grade and loves to dance. As a family, we love New York teams... GO Yankees, Giants, and Rangers!!!
I consider the classroom my stage! Before teaching, I spent several years performing in local and off-off broadway theater productions. I taught theater and directed shows for the Milford school district in their Enrichment Summer School Program, as well as, directed plays with the entire fourth grade student body here at Orchard Hills School.
A few quotes from some of my past students:
"Mrs. Hardt will turn a rainy day into a sunny one."
"Don't think Mrs. Hardt is yelling at you...she just talks really loud."
"The classroom is organized and clean."
"Mrs. Hardt expects you to work hard, keep the room tidy, but she also wants you to have fun!"
