This page is going to be where I share information about what is going on in our classroom including special assignments, school events, and what we are working on.
Check out our room 10 home page to see what's going on in November in our class!
During our Reading Workshop, we have been learning about and identifying character traits, so this week our class is doing a character trait project for homework. They are going to choose a book and give a Most _____ Award for the main character. Students are going to use that character's actions and dialogue to support why they gave the character that award.
Room 10 is also continuing our multiplication and division practice using flashcards and paper and pencil practice. Connecting multiplication to skip counting and repeated addition is helpful (e.g. 5x6 is like skip counting by 5's six times or adding 5 together 6 times). Also, relating division to multiplication helps (e.g. 30 divided by 5 is like saying how many times do I skip count by 5 to get to 30 or how many times do I add 5 together to get 30). Remember that if you practice your multiplication and division at home, you can count it in our extreme math challenge, so keep practicing those facts at home : )
Keep up the good work!
Welcome to Miss Cianciolo's blog! This is my very first post. I'm hoping to use this blog as a means of communicating with you about special assignments, school events, and what we are working on in class. This Friday, October 18th, Calf Pen Meadow is wearing blue to stomp out bullying. Students also will be taking part in a prismatic laser light spectacular show. It's going to be a great day!
