About Ms. Couden

"In learning you will teach, and in teaching you will learn."

I am very excited to be your child's teacher this year! My goal for all students is to work hard, learn to our greatest potential and most importantly have a fun year.  I have high expectations for each and every student and I want them all to become responsible and respectful citizens.

This is my fourth year teaching.  I taught third grade for my first two years and this year I am looking forward to teaching second grade again this year! I graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with my Bachelors in Elementary Education along with a Bachelors in Liberal Studies.  I received my Masters at Southern in Special Education in 2015.  I am currently pursuing a 6 year degree in Reading full time. I grew up in Milford and attended school in the Milford Public Schools System. I think it is a wonderful opportunity to be able to teach in the system where I was educated.

When I am not in school, I enjoy spending time with my family.  I also love to go for walks with my yellow lab, Lily.  I am very passionate about sports, especially ice hockey.  My favorite team is the New York Rangers. GO RANGERS!  I also enjoy working out, doing things outdoors, such as running and hiking. My favorite hobby of all is to travel.  This summer I went on a vaction to Iceland.  I have also been to several places in the United States, Canada, Italy, France, Spain and the Bahamas.
