G144 Conversational Arabic - Beginners
This beginner’s course will get you started in the Arabic language. Arabic has already been included in the curriculum of many high schools throughout the country. You will start with simple vocabulary and be introduced to the Arabic alphabet as well as some basic grammar. Nine weeks.

Ahmed Nasr has a Bachelor of Science degree from Cairo University in Cairo, Egypt, an Associate of Science in Data Processing Technology, and has done graduate work in computer technology at the Polytechnic Institute of New York. Ahmed is a native speaker and enjoys teaching Arabic to students at all levels. He teaches Arabic at Yale University for the High School Co-Op Language program.

This course continues where the beginner’s course left off. Learn basic grammar principles, additional vocabulary, writing and reading through conversation and practice. If you have taken the beginner’s course or already have some knowledge of the Arabic language, this class is for you. Nine weeks.

If you know a little, or no French at all, you will enjoy taking this lively French language course. Have fun learning about French culture while you sharpen your conversational skills. Manfred Mohring was born in Germany and emigrated to the U.S. in 1956. He has taught German in the Milford Adult Education program since 1987. He currently teaches various computer classes at Housatonic Community College.

Join us for a continuation of the Fall semester with added vocabulary, Deaf Culture, and conversational skills. Deaf visitors and activities will be included. Knowledge of the manual alphabet and some vocabulary is required. Limit: 15 students. Nine weeks.

Judi Reynolds learned to sign in 1973 and has continued courses until the present. She regularly socializes with the Deaf Community and attends Deaf functions throughout the state.

Marie Dallas is a Milford resident who has lived in Germany (three years), and in Chile (nine years) where she was a teacher and assistant director at the Sam Marsalli English Institute in Santiago, Chile. Marie has been teaching Spanish in the Milford Adult Education program for more than eleven years.
G152 Conversational Spanish - Intermediate
Once you know the basics, continue your experience with this course, which will broaden your vocabulary and conversational skills. You will be introduced to the mysteries of the past tense. A course for those who have taken Spanish I or who are familiar with Spanish vocabulary and sentence structure, but are not yet proficient in the language. Prerequisite: a sense of humor! Nine weeks.
