Baseball: Our National Pasttime
NEW. This course will explore the
history and sociology of baseball.
Special attention will be given to
the relationship of baseball to American
culture and society and to the new
tools available to evaluate player
performance. We will cover such topics
as baseball’s rural beginnings,
the Babe Ruth era, the Jackie Robinson
era, memorabilia and autograph authentication,
the modern era, who were the best
players ever, and more. Limit: 20

Basic Dog Obedience
Learn basic dog obedience in an enjoyable
and relaxed outdoor atmosphere. There
will be an informational meeting (without
dogs) to outline the course and collect
vaccination certificates on Thursday,
April 3 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in
room 309 at Foran High School. The
remainder of the classes, some saturdays
and some thursdays, will be conducted
in the upper parking lot at Foran
High. Discussions and demonstrations
about nutrition and grooming will
be included. A graduation ceremony
will be the culminating activity.

Boat Smart & PWC
This course has been designed by the
Milford Power and Sail Squadron to
instruct the students in the most
important elements of boating necessary
for boating on Long Island Sound,
or Connecticut’s beautiful lakes
and rivers. This course will qualify
the student for both a CT State Safe
Boaters Certificate (SBC) and a Certificate
of Personal Watercraft (CPWO). A
materials fee of $35 is payable to
the instructor at the first class.
