This course is for PC beginners. Students will explore the fascinating world of PC’s through Windows NT and will learn the basics of word processing, database and spreadsheeting. A course that will cover the basics of Microsoft Excel. Topics covered include saving and printing a file, setting column widths, changing number formats, aligning text, copying and moving text, creating formulas, just what you need if you work with numbers, and applying various font and number attributes. G052 Microsoft Excel 2007 - Beginner
Working with numbers? Then Excel is for you. Begin with simple text and number entries, add a formula and Excel will do the work. Move easily from basic arithmetic to complex calculations involving business, financial and statistical applications. Create practical applications including: a two-year budget with a projection for the following year; a small business P&L statement; a personal checkbook register; a teacher’s grade book and more. Learn to use colorful charts, graphs, and formatting techniques to make the sheet attractive and easy to read. Prerequisite: Introduction to PC course or experience with Windows. Limit: 15 students. G059 PhotoShop - Beyond Basics
Go beyond basic Photoshop and learn to refine your images using Camera Raw, blend modes, advanced layers and masks, the gradient editor, advanced filters and more. Learn the art of subtle enhancements, black and white conversions, complex selections, etc. The course is based on using Photoshop CS4. Participants must have a working knowledge of layers, selections and masks and must own a copy of 7-Point System for Adobe Photoshop CS3 by Scott Kelby, Peachpit Press, ISBN 13:978-0-321-53420-0. Access to Photoshop CS2 or higher is desirable, access to Photoshop Elements 5.0 or higher is acceptable. A$10 media fee is payable to the instructor at the first class. Limit: 10 students.
